Day 8 Lukla again
The first night I have slept well since leaving England over a week ago. I got up at 08.45 and I read for an hour before heading to the tourist office again to try and change the permit (you need a climbing permit for every different peak you climb). Unfortunately it couldn’t be changed, but we were given the option of buying a new one for $450, something I couldn’t afford. Aashman phoned his boss to see what he could do, he said he would ring the NMA and sort it out for us. So tomorrow we either set out to climb Lobouche East or if we can’t obtain a permit we will be heading to Everest Base Camp with all the other tourists, I hope it is the former.
The rest of the day was spent exploring the surrounding slopes, reading and relaxing in the sun, a much needed day of rest after yesterday’s exertions.
